What's your favorite recovery book?
There are many great recovery books out there, so what is your favorite? I highly recommend Tails of Recovery by Nancy Schenck...
Poignant and moving stories from recovering addicts about how the unconditional love of their pets brought them from the horrors of active addiction to a life filled with hope and healing. Includes information on the disease of addiction with supporting medical research data throughout.

My favorite is "Each Day A New Beginning". It's a daily meditation book for women written by Karen Casey. I have had it since 1986. It is wonderful. She has also written many other books for Hazelden.
My favorite recovery books are: A New Pair of Glasses by Chuck C. and Emotional Sobriety. Both have impacted my recovery in different ways. I first read Chuck C's book early in sobriety and it really helped me to see that I could stay sober no matter what. I've read it about 22 times, give or take around my sober anniversary.
I read Emotional Sobriety later in my recovery, when just working a simple straight forward program just wasn't enough any longer.

I also highly recommend Dr. Mel Pohl's "A Day Without Pain" and "Pain Recovery" - for more info, please visit http://www.PainRecoveryBook.com
