12 Step Community The 12 Step Community is comprised of many anonymous programs. Narcotics Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous, Cocaine Anonymous, Al Anon, Nar Anon, just to name a few. 12 Step Recovery started in 2007 as an idea and has now grown to have many members throughout the world. We are excited to invite you to join our 12 Step Community and begin to meet each other and have conversations via NA chat or AA chat. We also have the ability for anyone in any 12 step fellowship to maintain their personal recovery blog. Our 12 Step Forum is a place to share opinions thoughts and ideas. In today's technology, a 12 Step Community is not fun without the ability to set up individual profiles with pictures and videos.

Membership is FREE. We look forward to meeting you online.

  12 Step Community
12 Step Forum An internet forum or message board is an online discussion. Those of us who are active in the 12 Step Fellowship are familiar with being in the rooms sharing our experience, strength, and hope of recovery. The Forum on 12 Step Recovery is designed for all to see and only members of the 12 Step Community to be able to post threads (which are online and ongoing discussions) and comment on other peoples discussions. We look forward to seeing you in the forum.

  12 Step Forum
12 Step Chat Our Chat feature is designed for members only. When you set your profile up as a member, you will be able to cruise around the site while chatting with your friends. One of the coolest features is that you can chat with your friends, or meet new ones from all over the world. The internet allows those of us in recovery to chat with anyone, anywhere, anytime. So invite your friends and chat for a while. Looking forward to talking to you soon.

12 Step Blogs In the Fellowship of Narcotics Anonymous and the Fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous, as with all 12 Step Fellowships, we are thought early on to journal. A blog is like a personal website that is maintained by one person sharing their thoughts and feelings with regular entries. Being a part of the 12 Step Recovery Community allows you to have a personal blog, and in addition to writing and sharing events, you can share pictures of yourself and things that you like to do and also share videos. Most Blogs will have a combination of your likes, dislikes, events you attend, and anything else you feel like sharing from a written perspective. Looking forward to hearing your story.

12 Step Recovery and ICYPAA

12 Step Recovery is proud to help spread the word about the 50th ICYPAA in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. July 4-6. 12 Step Recovery will have our first live presence at this event, so keep you’re eyes open for our cards floating around. If you couldn’t make it, just register for you’re free membership here and check the Member Blogs and the 12 Step Recovery Forum to see what people say about the Conference.

ICYPAA – The International Conference of Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous

“ICYPAA was founded for the purpose of providing a setting for an annual celebration of sobriety among young people in AA. Since its inception, a growing group of people, who at first would not consider themselves as "young people," has become regular attendees. The number of young people suffering from alcoholism who turn to AA for help is growing, and ICYPAA helps to carry AA's message of recovery to alcoholics of all ages. This meeting provides an opportunity for young AA's from all over the world to come together and share their experience, strength, and hope as members of Alcoholics Anonymous. AA members who attend an ICYPAA return home better prepared to receive young people who come to AA looking for a better way of life.”

This 12 Step Recovery Online Community

began in August 2007.

12 Step Recovery is a website to offer an online community for people in 12 step fellowships. My goal is simple - I have been blessed to be clean and in active recovery since 1978 - I want to be of service. There are other websites that are fellowship specific - I want to be inclusive rather than exclusive.

I was lucky to get clean in an age where how you identified in a meeting was welcomed regarless of rather you said clean or sober. Many said clean and sober, many identified as alcoholic addict. There were always the few in AA that hated when an addict shared. Today in NA the literature has been changed and NA asks their members to identify as an addict. Unfortunately if a drug rehab brings their recovering addicts to an NA meeting rarely do they explain how people in NA identify. As a result NA members can throw stink eye at a newcomer - who simply just needs it explained to them why people identify differantly.  I am glad the addicts who stayed sober in AA took to their traditions and although they stayed sober - they truly maintained complete abstinance, it is those AA members that brought me to my home in Narcotics Anonymous.

My home is Narcotics Anonymous, however, I am truly grateful for the AA fellowship and will attend a meeting if there is not an NA meeting available. AA and NA have many more similarities than differances. I call NA home because I believe that addiction is my problem not the specific drug. With this said, NA and AA members from around the globe are my family. I wanted to create an atmoshpere where any one wanting to find individuals, businesses, treatment programs... that are commited to helping someone find a new way of living - a place to come together and share their expierence, strength, and hope.

If you are a newcomer or an oldtimer - Welcome! Please share your success and stories with us. This community is to offer blogs, websites, discussions... for those of us interested in 12 step recovery. To be fair to my friends who stay clean with out the use of the 12 steps - you are welcome also. I am not one to say the 12 steps are the only way, I can just say that they are what has worked for me.

12 Step Recovery Community

Please invite your friends to come and share their music, fun, and fellowship. If you have a business or service you want to market - welcome.   I have put on the site ways to connect with others via a chat room, post on the discussion board your local meetings, let people know if you are selling a car, old literature, or anything you can think of. Of course I added a place for personals - it seems in todays technological world - we should be able to hook up with a new friend if we are traveling their way, or a new love interest if we are seeking - so post away. I have a section where you can submit content. I would love to hear from all fellowships, all the differany ways to work steps...

If you have a recovery topic you would like to write an article about please submit it. If you are a history buff and want to write about the history of and fellowship please submit. This is a site for all. Thank you for visiting!

NA - How it Works

If you want what we have to offer, and are willing to make the effort to get it, then you are ready to take certain steps. These are the principles that made our recovery possible.

  1. We admitted that we were powerless over our addiction, that our lives had become unmanageable.
  2. We came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
  3. We made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.
  4. We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

AA - How It Works

Rarely have we seen a person fail who has thoroughly followed our path. Those who do not recover are people who cannot or will not completely give themselves to this simple program, usually men and women who are constitutionally incapable of being honest with themselves. There are such unfortunates. They are not at fault; they seem to have been born that way. They are naturally incapable of grasping and developing a manner of living which demands rigorous honesty. Their chances are less than average.

Creating a resource page is not as easy as one might think. I have chosen to link only to sites that offer 12 step information on 12 step programs or 12 step alternative programs, non-profit programs, research sites that specialize in addiction treatment or directories that are free or very low cost that help the public find drug rehab programs.  However, you may register and put a link to your site or post in the forum and put a link to your site.
